Sport Bay of Plenty, a Charitable Trust and non profit organisation, was established in 1987 and has grown to become a substantial provider of services benefiting the sporting, recreational and leisure interests of the Bay of Plenty communities.

Sport Bay of Plenty's geographical area covers from Waihi Beach in the north to Turangi in the south, to Cape Runaway in the east and to the Kaimai Ranges in the west. The region is split into three regions, these being Eastern BOP, Western BOP, and Rotorua, and there are offices in Tauranga, Whakatane and Rotorua to service these regions.
